About April

April Wilson has been working with plants since 2003, and began working as an arborist in 2013 in New York City. She is proud to call Western North Carolina home since 2016, and lives in a small cabin with her family in Little Sandymush.

An ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, as well as Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, April has an intimate knowledge of our local urban forests and managing relationships between humans and trees. She splits her time with production climbing and sales for Arbor Pros of Asheville, a wonderful team of tree crew professionals, and providing tree consultation in her private practice.

April is a parent, a songwriter, a goofball, and a lifelong learner. She began Stump Sprouts in 2020, and continues to maintain collaborative relationships with Arborpros, Preservation Arborists, and Smart Feller Tree Works, among others in WNC.

"April came out this summer to assess the trees around the playground of the preschool I operate. She was thorough, explained things in a way I could understand and was extremely knowledgeable about the trees on the property and their potential risks. Will definitely be contacting her again for any future tree needs."

"April came out to assess some tree damage after Helene. She was volunteering her time to help people. She was very thorough in her approach. She explained what she saw and the factors that presented a risk from the different trees. She followed up quickly with a detailed assessment. I greatly appreciate her expertise and help.”
